Settle into your hotel and get ready for the next day’s flight to Cusco. This meeting ensures you have all the details and tips to make the journey smooth and enjoyable.

Day 2: Cusco – Start the Inca Trail Discovery Experience
Take a short flight from Lima to Cusco and start immersing yourself in the city’s vibrant culture. Explore the historic streets, local markets, and iconic landmarks at your leisure or join a guided city tour to uncover hidden gems. This is your introduction to the Inca Trail Discovery adventure.

Day 3: Sacred Valley – Highlights of the Inca Trail Discovery
Today, explore the Sacred Valley on a full-day guided experience. Visit a women’s weaving co-op supported by Andean Diaries, and experience traditional pottery-making in a local community. Enjoy lunch at the Andean Diaries-supported Parwa Community Restaurant. In the afternoon, hike the Ollantaytambo storehouses or stroll the charming cobblestone streets.

Day 4: Inca Trail – First Steps of Your Inca Trail Discovery
Depart Ollantaytambo by van to kilometer 82, where the classic Inca Trail begins. Enjoy an easy first day of hiking along meandering streams, lush Andean scenery, and the first glimpses of ancient Incan ruins. Experience the magic of starting your Inca Trail Discovery.

Day 5: Inca Trail – Climb Dead Woman’s Pass on the Inca Trail Discovery
Prepare for the highlight of the trek: ascending Dead Woman’s Pass, the highest point at 4,198 m (13,769 ft). Take in the stunning landscapes as you reach camp by early afternoon, with plenty of time to rest and enjoy the scenery.

Day 6: Inca Trail – Explore Ruins Along the Inca Trail Discovery
Cross two additional passes today, beginning with Runquraqay at 3,950 m (13,113 ft). Hike through the cloud forest to the second pass at 3,700 m (12,136 ft), then continue to the spectacular Phuyupatamarca ruins, the “town above the clouds.” Optionally, extend your hike to Wiñay Wayna, meaning “forever young.” This day showcases the history and beauty central to your Inca Trail Discovery.

Day 7: Machu Picchu – The Grand Finale of Your Inca Trail Discovery
Wake early to reach the Sun Gate for sunrise over Machu Picchu. Enjoy a guided tour of the ruins, learning the rich history of the Inca civilization. Afterward, take the train back to Cusco, reflecting on the incredible journey of your Inca Trail Discovery.
